Saltwater Living

Today we had a snowstorm hit Newfoundland and I was so happy that we were staying at a cabin out around the bay during it. I can't imagine a cozier place to be that a beautiful cottage on the ocean during a snowstorm. There's a fireplace, a soaker tub, and huge windows and skylights to watch the snow coming down :)

We ventured outside for a little bit to take some pictures and explore the area. Here are some snaps from today:

We had originally planned to go on a cruise this winter, but since I got pregnant we had to cancel due to concerns about contracting Zika virus down south. Since I cancelled the trip, I've been itching to go on a vacation but obviously our options were limited. So instead of going on a week long trip somewhere, we decided to just rent a cottage for two nights just to get away and relax for a little bit. Andrew and I love exploring Newfoundland and just going for quick little trips whenever we find time.

I found this place (Ocean Delight Cottages) online over the summer when I was googling cabins to stay at for a last minute trip. Unfortunately, the cabin I wanted was full so we decided to stay at Kilmory Resort in Swift Current, NL instead.

Ocean Delight Cottages is located in Whiteway, NL which is only about an hour away from St. John's. It's an ideal location if you don't want to travel too far from the city but are looking for somewhere to go just to get away for a little bit. There's a lot more to do around here in the summer than in the winter, but we were quite content with staying inside (especially, since we came here in the middle of a snowstorm) and enjoying the close up views of the Atlantic Ocean.

We chose to stay in the Cranberry Cottage which is their newest and biggest cottage. It is a beautiful A-frame with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen (it even has a dishwasher!), two decks, a private fire pit, BBQ, a soaker tub in the master suite, and a wicked view of the ocean.

I'd love to one day build a cabin of our own that looks just like this one.

Today marks 17 weeks of pregnancy! We just had our third pre-natal appointment this week  and were happy to see that the baby is doing well and things are looking normal so far. He or she was moving around a little bit, not as much as last time but the doctor said the baby looked like a little swimmer :) Time feels like it's moving quickly (it's almost Christmas!!), but this pregnancy feels like it's taking forever. I'm sure I'll look back on it later and think that it flew, but it's so hard waiting because we're so excited to have a little baby to play with and watch grow up.

Today we decided to take a little drive to Fort Amherst and take a few pictures because the sun was starting to go down which made for a really cool effect in the pictures.

I think this is the longest amount of time I've went without making a post, but I've been sick with a cold all week. It really sucks not being able to take any medications, but it's what's best for the baby so I just have to suck it up. I feel like I've been sick a lot this pregnancy but I guess that's what comes with pregnancy :/ Breathe-right strips and vick's have been my best friend lately lol.

Regardless of being sick or not, I had to force myself to get dressed and put some make up on to take these pictures or I knew I would regret not having them. But as soon as I was done taking the pics I jumped right back into my onesie and parked myself on the couch for the rest of the day.

Anyways, enough about me being sick. Here are my Week 16 Baby Bump Pictures:



The Bump has certainly grown a lot compared to the last 3 bump pics I've taken!!It's starting to actually look like I'm pregnant, and not just fat haha. However, it is still pretty easy to cover up the fact that I'm pregnant by wearing certain clothes.

We have our monthly doctor's appointment on Monday, so I'm pretty excited to see the baby again and make sure everything is still going smoothly.
